A unique journey on the border between ancient cultures and the modern world -
A joint presentation by Péter Szűcs and David Yengibarian
13 February 2025 18:00
We invite you to an inspiring and special evening where culture, music and personal stories come together. The event will focus on the fabulous landscapes, cultural treasures and ancient nomadic traditions of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, while experiencing what these heritages can teach modern societies.
The programme
Presentation by Péter Szűcs:
Journalist, writer and world traveller Péter Szűcs invites us on a special journey. In his projected image presentation, we can discover the stories and hidden treasures of the former empires of the legendary Silk Road. As the founder of Peter's Planet, Peter presents a unique perspective on the diversity of the world, with a focus on human stories and personal experiences. His style is honest, sensitive and thought-provoking, bringing us closer to the magic of distant cultures.
A musical performance by David Yengibarian:
A special talent of the Hungarian music scene, accordionist David Yengibarian takes us on a fascinating musical journey. His performances are a unique blend of Armenian traditions, Balkan rhythms, Argentinian tango, jazz and improvisational music. The evening will also include harmonies from J.S. Bach's Preludes and Goldberg Variations - a musical bravura that will present these classical works from a new perspective.
